MILANA'S REVIEW

Lately I've been feeling a bit disappointed with some of the YA fantasy floating around. There's been lots of overdone themes and everyone out there... we DO NOT need another Snow White retelling. Trust me. We have enough.

When Everless landed on my doorstep as part of the Indigo Teen Staff Picks all I could think was "wow that is an amazing cover". Look at how gorgeous it is! Cover art is a whole new level of art. I just couldn't stop staring at it. After reading the synopsis I was intrigued! A world where time is used a currency? How would that work? What would that entail?

IT KICKED BUTT. I loved Everless. The world building and the discoveries of the past weaving in with the present was so clever, playing on the idea of time again in another way. The descriptions of the way they use time as currency was really vividly explained and I could totally picture it. Now that's some great storytelling.

The only reason I knocked a half star off was because there was a bit of a plot hole staring at me near the end. I was really surprised that wasn't explained better because the rest of the story was so top notch! I'm going to have faith in Holland that she will bring that back into book 2, hopefully giving us a cool answer. Go grab Everless! Such a great start to a new series!
