The Way You Make Me Feel

SYNOPSIS

Clara Shin lives for pranks and disruption. When she takes one joke too far, her dad sentences her to a summer working on his food truck, the KoBra, alongside her uptight classmate Rose Carver. Not the carefree summer Clara had imagined.

But maybe Rose isn't so bad.

Maybe the boy named Hamlet (yes, Hamlet) crushing on her is pretty cute. Maybe Clara actually feels invested in her dad’s business. What if taking this summer seriously means that Clara has to leave her old self behind? With Maurene Goo's signature warmth and humor, The Way You Make Me Feel is a relatable story of falling in love and finding yourself in the places you’d never thought to look.

MILANA'S REVIEW

It’s been the year of contemporaries for me friends. I’ve been enjoying them immensely and The Way You Make Me Feel cracked me up. The main character was such a hoot I was laughing from page 1 to the end. If this doesn’t hook you then I don’t know what else to tell you: there’s a Carrie re-enactment with fake blood that made me burst out laughing and it sets the whole tone of the book.

The relationship development between all the characters was so wonderful to see unfold. Something so sweet about them. This is for you if you’re looking for a quick summer read that will make you laugh. A solid 3.5 because it was entertaining, a good contemporary for your TBR.

**Thank you MacMillian for sending me an ARC for an honest review.**
