MILANA'S REVIEW

It's always so hard to rate books that weren't a clear like or dislike. This one was just somewhere in the middle. I didn't especially like it but I didn't really hate it. In fact I was more confused where the book fit exactly. The writing leaned more towards a middle grade read but the topics within the storyline (i.e.: suicide, injustice, rape) were definitely meant for an older audience. I expected a Robin Hood retelling that has lots of running in it, stealing from the rich, all that good stuff and this was just nothing like what I expected.

Now I did enjoy all the references to the original Robin Hood tale and the spin on the characters. That was really fun! And the sense of community that is created by the characters is heart warming. All of this being said this book is for you if you like a slower read with some more serious topics and a lighter writing tone.
