What can I say about The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart that would live up to the beauty of the words in this book? This Australian bestseller has made its way to North America and we are so lucky to have it here! What a gorgeous book inside and out. I love the illustrations on the chapter headings and the descriptions of all the flowers and especially how the flower descriptions match the tone of the chapter, so clever!
This was a heavy book, the subject matter was potent and really packed a punch to the gut as you’re reading about Alice’s journey. Following the characters life was a pleasure and it conjured such emotion from me. This is a great book club book if you’re looking for your next group read.
